December 10

Read: John 1:1-5

Is it beginning to look a lot like Christmas around your world? What are some fun decorations that you’ve seen? Do you have any fun party plans? The beginning of the holiday season is always an exciting time. There are so many things to look forward to. Beginnings are important.

The Bible tells us about beginnings too. In John 1:1-5, the “Word” is talking about Jesus. He was there in the very beginning, He was with God and He was God. He made everything. This Jesus that we will spend the Christmas season celebrating, didn’t just show up in a manger. He has been God since the very beginning.

As the next couple of weeks get really busy with all the things to do for Christmas, you can use this calendar to spend a few minutes each day focusing on the One who Christmas is all about – the One who has been God from the beginning.

Pray: Thank God that we can know Jesus has been God from the very beginning. Ask Him to help your family focus on Him from the beginning of the Christmas season to the end.

Do: When you do a maze, where do you have to start? The beginning! Try out one of these mazes and as you start at the beginning, say to your family members: “In the beginning was the word.”
